When to Seek Prompt Medical Advice

An injured player should seek prompt medical advice at an Emergency Department (ED), hospital or after-hours medical centre if they have;

  • a persistent headache
  • been unconscious
  • been vomiting or nauseated after a blow to the head
  • a suspected concussion
  • breathing difficulties after an injury to the head, neck or chest
  • severe pains in their neck
  • Abdominal pains (and pain around the tip of their shoulder)
  • blood in their urine
  • an eye injury
  • collapsed after any trauma
