As a general rule the minimum time injury and return to activity in any sport with a predictable risk of head impact is 23 days for children and adolescents and 19 days for adults.
For some players, the period of exclusion will be too long. For other players not long enough.
Ideally, concussed players should be examined by an experienced medical practitioner. The decision about return to play should be based on the clinical findings, and if possible, neuropsychological testing.
